After obtaining a new £16.5 million investment from the Business development Fund (BGF), mortgage technology supplier Twenty7tec is getting ready to spur “significant growth and expansion within the UK”.

With an increased workforce, the fintech company located in Bournemouth claims it would use the money to "accelerate its product development roadmap, enhance its technology infrastructure, and explore new market opportunities."

Angela Williams, a former senior executive at the Post Office, British Airways, Centrica, and Land Securities, has been appointed as Twenty7tec's new non-executive chair by BFG by utilizing its talent network.

Alongside her, Duncan Wade, a BGF investor who led the fundraising drive with colleagues BGF investors Cat Dilloway and Harry Kernick, also joins the board as a non-executive director.

According to Companies House, Jeremy Duckworth, Tony Prestedge, and James Gray all resigned from their roles as directors.

Twenty7tec is a B2B platform that, according to CEO James Tucker, "streamlines the entire mortgage journey" for over 16,000 mortgage, protection, and wealth advisers. This includes everything from product sourcing and comparison to application administration and mortgage delivery. Twenty7tec was founded in 2014.

The digital marketing tool COMMUNICATE and the practice management and CRM system FINPLAN are included with the platform. According to Twenty7tec, these products have "significantly extended the company's integrated solutions in both the mortgage and wealth advisory markets" as a result of recent investments.

According to Tucker, Twenty7tec will be able to "seek opportunities for inorganic growth that are complementary to our existing business" and "invest further in delivering technology that makes a real difference to all participants in this market" as a result of the investment. The company purchased the digital engagement tool Meet Parker and the mortgage affordability portal Broker Sense last year.
