Google Pay has undergone a makeover to make it simpler for customers to view card advantages, use BNPL on more websites, and use biometrics at checkout instead of CVV codes.
Instead of entering a CVV security code at checkout, customers using autofill on Chrome or Android now have the option to have their whole card information automatically filled in with a fingerprint, face scan, or screen lock PIN.
Earlier this year, Google began testing BNPL when customers check out online, working with suppliers Zip and Affirm. In the US, more merchant websites and Android apps are increasingly implementing the approach. At the point of sale, customers have the option to register with a provider or link their current account.
Lastly, select perks for particular cards will now appear in the autofill drop-down menu for American Express and Capital One cardholders checking out on Chrome desktop, making it simpler to choose the optimal choice. In the future, Google intends to extend this to additional cards.
