A recent partnership between Worldline [Euronext: WLN] and Road offers charge point operators a robust solution that takes care of all administrative, compliance, and payment processing needs.

This collaboration, the first of its kind in the European market, enables charge point owners to ensure compliance with the UK's Public Charge Point Regulations 2023, which impose new obligations starting in November of this year, and the AFIR payment requirements, which go into effect on April 13, 2024, using a single, convenient platform.

Road, a pioneer in electric vehicle charging transaction and administration platforms, opted to collaborate with Worldline, a major player in international payments services, to ease charge point owners' burdens while providing EV drivers with convenience. Road will enable price transparency and accept a variety of payment ways by utilizing its interface with Worldline.

In response to the increasing demands of drivers and owners of charging stations, the solution acknowledges the significance of interconnection in the electric vehicle industry. Road is integrating Worldline's payments system to give their clients more options for taking various cards, payment terminals, and improved services. Customers of charge station owners now have access to a single view of charging sessions, including roaming, and irrespective of the payment method, thanks to Road's expanded capabilities on the E-Flux platform.

We are able to provide a simple, hassle-free payment process because of our partnership with Worldline, a financial services provider. The customer experience is improved overall when drivers may pay for charging services with ease using their preferred payment method, such as credit or debit cards or mobile payments. Additionally, we handle the infrastructure for payment solutions, so charge point owners don't have to worry about it," says Vincent van Vaalen, CEO of Road.

Van Vaalen claims that the alliance will enable charge point operators and drivers to easily connect to Worldline's services for complete card acquisition and processing."This payment solution's flexibility is another step in our mission to make EV charging transactions simple and convenient for everyone." Regardless of the size of the charge point owner, we identified a need for more straightforward and integrated payment services that could satisfy the changing needs of the market.

Regulation is driving expansion, but new demand is driving growth at the same time. Offering a greater selection of payment choices to customers and fleet-owning enterprises alike enhances value, choice, and market flexibility. This is a significant step toward providing any company providing charging services with a straightforward payment option, open pricing, and integrated services," he stated.

"Today's e-mobility landscape requires agility, and an ecosystem that can easily adapt to the rapid pace of innovation and regulation, even when it comes to the payment functionalities," stated Radu-Vasile Pop, Head of EV Charging at Worldline. We are happy to be able to use Road's dynamic platform to offer our payment processing services. Our partnership will enable us to provide extensive payment solutions that will be extremely beneficial to drivers and charge station owners throughout Europe.

Starting in April 2024, charging station owners throughout Europe will be able to comply with the EU AFIR rule thanks to the solution.
