This represents a substantial follow-up to the same investor's prior $5 million pledge.

The money is intended to support VCI Global's strategic entry into the AI cloud computing market. Notably, the funding will let Malaysia's AI Computing Center (AICC) open its doors. The AICC will include 512 NVIDIA H200 Tensor Core GPUs. It is anticipated that this configuration would place the center in the top 30 globally in terms of processing power, which is essential for high-performance computing and generative AI applications.

VCI Global is an expert in using AI to analyze large volumes of data quickly and effectively. An important step in improving the company's offers to its clients, especially in the developing Southeast Asian market, is the founding of the AICC.

The importance of the investment was highlighted by Dato' Victor Hoo, Group Executive Chairman and CEO of VCI Global, who said, "We are confident that this US$30 million investment from Alumni Capital will significantly empower our strategic growth in AI cloud computing." It makes it possible for us to open a top-notch AICC in Malaysia and service customers all over the world, but particularly in Southeast Asia. We firmly believe that we can use these tools to promote creativity and improve the state of artificial intelligence.
