The international fintech startup Unlimit today announced that it has entered the Tanzanian market and received a license from the Bank of Tanzania ("BOT"), which is a big step forward for the company's regional expansion.

With the BOT's certification of Unlimit as an authorized payment service provider, the fintech will be able to offer the Tanzanian market a number of new services, including outbound payments, merchant services, and business payments.

Following the granting of comparable licenses in Nigeria and Kenya last year, Unlimit's expansion into Tanzania represents a significant step forward in its larger objective. Unlimit has demonstrated its unwavering dedication to augmenting its footprint and investment in the African continent by initiating operations in a third nation. This expansion is achieved by the expansion of Unlimit's exclusive payment infrastructure. For the nation's entrepreneurs, the construction of this infrastructure would eliminate current obstacles to regional and international trade as Unlimit works to fulfill its objective of eradicating financial boundaries worldwide.

"It's a tremendous opportunity to launch our operations in Tanzania and we're excited to bring our unparalleled payments infrastructure to yet another market in Africa," stated Trevor Goott, Director of Unlimit for Africa and India. We firmly think that by offering local businesses and entrepreneurs the greatest possible support, we can contribute to the consolidation of the fragmented African payments landscape and accelerate wider economic growth through digital payment solutions skillfully customized to the continent. Our construction is long-term focused.

"We appreciate the regulators' support and direction, and we are now looking forward to onboarding international and local merchants, businesses, and entrepreneurs and bringing more value and consumer choice to the Tanzanian market through our unique payment solutions," stated Peter Mlay, Head of Unlimit's Tanzania division.
