According to Mark Gurman's most recent Power On newsletter, Apple suppliers are getting ready to start producing the new AirPods in large quantities in May. Two new models will take the place of the AirPods 3.

For the non-Pro buds, the new AirPods models signify a new two-tier lineup. They will both have a new look, a better fit, and USB-C charging. Like the AirPods Pro, the higher-end model will also include active noise cancellation and Find My location for the case.

The codenames for the two versions, according to Gurman, are B768E and B768M. The present product lineup, in which Apple concurrently sells the second-generation AirPods for $129 and the third-generation for $179, is meant to be replaced by these.

Apple anticipates that these new modifications will be well-received, despite the AirPods 3's sales being less strong than anticipated. According to Gurman, Apple plans to manufacture 20–25 million units of the new versions, making this the largest AirPods launch to date. They will most likely be released in the fall, coinciding with the release of the iPhone 16.

It is not anticipated that the AirPods Pro will release with new hardware until 2025, but additional software capabilities, such as a hearing aid mode, are already in development.

The updated AirPods Max will come with a USB-C port for charging later this year, but there won't be any other noticeable changes.

In the near future, we anticipate an impending announcement from Apple regarding new iPad Pro and iPad Air models. The focus will then shift to WWDC in June, where Apple is expected to reveal the next significant iterations of its operating systems, including iOS 18, which will have a plethora of new artificial intelligence features for the iPhone.
