The gaming technology company Razer has announced that Fiuu, a new autonomous subsidiary catering to businesses in Southeast Asia, will replace Razer Fintech, the company's fintech division, and Razer Merchant Services, its B2B payments section.

The new Fiuu brand will provide offline payment networks that facilitate refill services and B2B digital payment solutions, such as a payment processing gateway, to retailers.

Lee Li Meng, the fintech unit's CEO since January 2020, has assumed the position of executive chairman as of March 1st as part of the restructuring. Now serving as CEO of RMS, Eng Sheng Guan will also serve as CEO of Fiuu.

In an effort to strengthen its position in the "booming" digital economy of the area, Lee says the rebranding initiative "goes beyond just a name change" since it "allows the fintech business to continue its path independently from the Razer brand, which is gaming focused."

Razer says it has seen "exceptional growth, with revenues doubling over the past four years, and is now operating at a profitable level" under Lee's direction.

It exited the e-wallet/payments industry in 2021 after two years with Razer Pay, its payments division.

For the fiscal year 2023, the brands that have now come together under the Fiuu name reported a combined payment volume of more than $6.6 billion. Fiuu will keep pursuing its goal of reaching its $295 billion revenue target by 2025 with its new brand.
