MeaWallet, a prominent facilitator of digital payments with expertise in card tokenization, has announced its collaboration with Fondeadora, the top financial service provider in Mexico.
Fondeadora, well-known as the online substitute for conventional Mexican banking, aims to give people back control over their money. Fondeadora, one of the first mobile-only banks in Mexico, has continuously led the way in the area for creative financial solutions. As one of the first financial institutions in Mexico to launch Apple Pay, Fondeadora garnered attention in March 2023.
With the announcement of its collaboration with MeaWallet, Fondeadora now restates its dedication to providing safe online payment solutions. Fondeadora's services, such as MeaWallet's SDK Push Provisioning to enable Apple Pay and Google Pay and integration with Mastercard Digital Enablement Service (MDES) through issuer processor Paymentology, are made possible thanks in large part to MeaWallet's experience with card tokenization.
Because of people's increasingly digitized lifestyles, mobile and online banking is becoming more and more popular in Mexico. Even though a sizable portion of the population lacks access to banking, 94% of Mexican consumers use online or mobile banking services. Furthermore, 96% of customers favor alternative mobile payment methods that operate independently of traditional bank accounts, demonstrating the strong demand for Fondeadora's digital financial services.
The foundation of the collaboration between Fondeadora and MeaWallet is tokenization. Payment tokenization ensures secure transactions without disclosing sensitive data by substituting unique digital identifiers for sensitive card information. Furthermore, the efficiency and accessibility of digital payment solutions are further improved by the combination of MeaWallet's SDK Push provisioning and Mastercard Digital Enablement Service (MDES). Push provisioning offers a smooth experience for customers and makes it easier for wallet providers to acquire new customers by streamlining the card issuing procedure to digital wallets.
Fondeadora's Chief Operating Officer, Rodrigo Sanchez, made the following statement: "New digital payment systems are clearly in demand, yet 65 million Mexicans are still not served by traditional financial institutions. It is obvious that the current system is flawed, and our goal is to make it right so that individuals can manage their finances. But we can't handle this on our own. In order to provide people with safe, practical, and inclusive financial solutions, we are advancing Mexico's digital payments revolution alongside our essential technological partners, such as MeaWallet."
"We are delighted to reveal that we are supporting Fondeadora with our tokenization services, which are our specialty," said Ignacio Gironella, Global Sales Director at MeaWallet. Fondeadora, which has achieved numerous industry firsts, is becoming stronger and stronger in Mexico. We look forward to supporting Fondeadora in leading the charge on this front as our partnership demonstrates a common commitment to enabling more people to engage in the financial system safely."
