Checkout.com, a facilitator of digital payments, has announced a partnership with Mastercard, a leading payment company, to offer virtual cards to online travel agents.

Customers of Checkout.com will now be able to utilize Mastercard's Wholesale Program, which can reduce expenses and increase conversion rates.

Cards are used by online travel agencies for B2B payments. By integrating issuance and acquisition onto a single platform, this new virtual card will assist online travel agents. They may now pay suppliers and receive transactions from customers with ease.

"We're delighted to partner with Mastercard to complement our virtual card issuing solution, enabling Online Travel Agents to unlock new revenue streams and deliver a connected customer experience," said Meron Colbeci, chief product officer of Checkout.com.By combining the Mastercard Wholesale Program with our single integration that links acquired sales to issued cards—unifying the process of acquiring and issuing—we will jointly be able to provide travel merchants with improved payment performance and improved cash flow management.

"Mastercard remains committed to powering the travel economy with digital payment solutions that provide greater flexibility, visibility, and protection," said George Simon, EVP of market development at Mastercard Europe. We now work with over 400,000 travel agencies globally to facilitate payments through the Mastercard Wholesale Program, and we're excited to partner with Checkout.com to help their clients adopt the newest payment technologies for business-to-business travel.

Mastercard introduced a virtual card app earlier this month that makes it easier to connect virtual business cards to digital wallets and reduce travel expenses.
