Jon Huntsman will begin his new role as Vice Chairman and President of Strategic Growth at Mastercard on April 15, the company said today. Together with advancing the company's goals for inclusive growth, charity, and sustainability, the former governor and ambassador to the United States will spearhead efforts to increase business ties with governmental and public sector organizations
He will be a member of the Executive Leadership Team and report to Michael Miebach, the CEO of Mastercard.
"As we shape the future of Mastercard, Jon's distinct experience spanning four decades in the public and private sectors will be immensely valuable," stated Miebach. "He will be essential in advancing our strategy for social impact-driven commercial sustainability, which is in line with our company's basic principle of doing well by doing good."

Jon holds ten honorary doctorates and is a University of Pennsylvania alumnus.
Jon stated, "Mastercard has an amazing corporate culture that is propelled by a deep dedication to promoting equitable, sustainable, digitally-driven economic growth globally." In order to further scale new business prospects and alliances in support of the company's ambitious strategic growth opportunities, I very much look forward to joining this fantastic team.
