FastSpring, a merchant of record for SaaS and software companies, collaborates with paytech company EBANX to improve the payment experience for Brazilian Pix users.
In order to improve consumers' payments experience inside the FastSpring product suite, FastSpring, the merchant of record for international SaaS and software firms, has collaborated with EBANX, a paytech that specializes in local markets, using Pix, Brazil's real-time payments (RTP) method.
Since its launch by the Brazilian Central Bank in 2020, Pix has become the go-to payment option for many customers.
According to EBANX's annual research, Beyond Borders, the country's RTP network, Pix, has become so popular that by 2026, it is predicted to represent for 40% of Brazil's entire digital commerce value.
RTP networks such as Pix, which eliminate the need for payment processing by middlemen like Visa and Mastercard, pose a challenge to a well-established worldwide payment processing system.
While industry heavyweights like Visa and Mastercard have long served as the "go-to" intermediates for processing payments, Pix eliminates the need for these "middlemen" and the accompanying fees. Credit card infrastructures use technology that was initially developed in the late 1950s.
Using FastSpring and EBANX to Capture RTP
FastSpring's connection with EBANX's Pix payments processing capabilities will increase Pix's availability and allow international SaaS, software, video game, and digital product firms to provide Pix payments to Brazilian clients, capitalizing on the rising popularity of RTP networks.
Brazilian digital product firms may now use FastSpring's platform to drive their international development while continuing to provide Pix payments to their local clientele.
Dan Garcia, Sr. Director of Payments, Risk and Compliance at FastSpring, says: “This partnership with EBANX allows FastSpring to leverage local payments, starting with the largest Latin American market, by delivering one of the country's preferred payment methods.
“The FastSpring platform enables sellers of digital goods to accept the most popular global payment methods. Adding Pix brings to the Brazilian market to new purchasers who do not have globally enabled cards.
In Brazil, it's an essential payment option. Our relationship with EBANX enables this code-free upgrading for our customers.”
With this connection, FastSpring is now able to take Pix payments for the first time, further demonstrating its dedication to offering clients in Latin America localized payment options.
By cooperating with EBANX, FastSpring can utilize its deep regional knowledge and infrastructure to better the payments experience for its clients.
Gregory Cornwell, Vice-President of Channels and Business Development at EBANX, adds: “The collaboration between FastSpring and EBANX means a significant step forward in providing tailored payment solutions for digital product companies operating in Brazil.
“By integrating Pix payments into FastSpring's platform, we are providing access to an important payment option in the Brazilian market, eventually enabling companies to increase their reach and drive development."
