Rob Whittick, a former NatWest Group executive, has been named as the new CFO of Boku, a supplier of mobile payment solutions with headquarters in San Francisco and London, effective immediately.

Boku, which was established in 2008, claims to provide localized payment solutions to some of the "largest companies in the world," including Amazon, Netflix, Sony, Spotify, Meta Platforms, Google, and Microsoft.

Boku asserts that its digital wallet services, A2A/real-time payments, and direct carrier billing link to over 7.5 billion consumer payment accounts across more than 60 countries.

Whittick has a "wealth of experience and knowledge, in particular financial and operational expertise from within a large and complex organization, invaluable as we progress our own scaling journey," according to Boku CEO Stuart Neal, commenting on the company's most recent hire.

Whittick spent more than 25 years of his career with NatWest Group, where he worked for the most of it. He had a number of high-level leadership roles at the bank throughout his time there, most notably serving as the financial director for commercial and private banking from 2014 to 2019.

He most recently held the position of chief of staff for the Group for four years. His LinkedIn page lists the creation of a new Digital Executive Hub as one of his achievements in this position, which enables internal and external examination of the business.
