After being co-created by BNP Paribas and Studio 321 less than six months ago, 1POINT6, formerly Panto, announced that it had signed its first customer and achieved payment agent status (October 2023).

1POINT6, in collaboration with BNP Paribas, provides a cutting-edge payment infrastructure for online retailers. The golden number that appears in its brand name alludes to the accuracy and effectiveness of its API, which is divided into six key features that will revolutionize the receipt and processing of payments.

We have been impressed by 1POINT6's tremendous potential from the beginning of the project, and the fintech's activity in the months after its debut only serves to reinforce that. Together with Studio 321 we have established the framework for quick and effective development. In terms of e-commerce, 1POINT6 has all it needs to become a major force in Europe, according to Neil Pein, 1POINT6's BNP Paribas Group Sponsor.

initial approval, first client, and team consolidation

After obtaining the status of agent for 1POINT6 from the ACPR, BNP Paribas is now able to handle transactions, seller onboarding, and third-party payment on its own. Concurrently, 1POINT6 initiated the procedure to turn into an Electronic Money Establishment (EME).

The fintech is happy to report that it has signed its first client. 1POINT6 technology is already being used by the My Pizza marketplace for transaction processing. The goal of My Pizza, a pizza franchise, was to increase its expansion by providing its franchisees with online payment options. With eight locations, primarily in Western France, My Pizza is eager to expand throughout the nation.

This first active customer is a significant accomplishment in an industry where technical integrations and market launches typically take a year or longer. There are already talks in progress with a number of other European marketplaces.

Together with the appointment of Guillaume Massis as CEO, Frédéric Minot as Chief Operating Officer (COO) is another way that 1POINT6 is strengthening its executive team. Previously, Frédéric was employed by the European online payment fintech Hipay as the Product and Technical Director. He was a co-founder of multiple tech companies in the financial, digital TV, and mobile phone sectors. He graduated from École Polytechnique.

A fintech that launched in a flash

Talks about this project started around a year and a half ago. Thanks to our market access, BNP Paribas's stronghold in the industry, and the exceptional performance of our tech team, the commercial and technological advancements have happened very quickly, says Guillaume Massis, CEO of 1POINT6.

1POINT6 offers every payment feature that marketplaces need.

• Integration features: enhanced, simple integration made possible by an extensive API that is available to everyone

• Cash in features: acceptance of payments and availability of several payment options tailored to each market.

• Cash out features: instantaneous or regular transfers of funds between third-party vendors and the marketplace are automatically redistributed.

• Third-party seller automated onboarding: built on a quick and easy KYC (Know Your Customer) procedure, complete fraud control, and AI-powered.

• Management functionalities: an integrated view of all payments, allowing one point of contact for financial reporting, reimbursements, reconciliation, and performance metrics.

• Anti-fraud functionalities: behavioral analysis and weak signal-based anti-fraud management system.

"Key accounts are still not getting enough attention today regarding some of the more complicated problems that come with the marketplace approach. Major benefits include our adaptability, excellent technology, and user-friendliness, says Guillaume Massis, CEO of 1POINT6.
