Through its cooperation with ApTap, a fintech firm that graduated from the bank's 'Launch' innovation program, Lloyds Bank will make handling household payments easier for mortgage customers.
The bill management tool from ApTap, which facilitates switching and saves money on utilities and home services, is now accessible through Home Wise (Lloyds Bank) and HelloHome (Halifax), which are home hubs that are already accessible to mortgage clients of the banks via mobile banking.
Customers may use the app to learn how much money they could save by switching mobile phone contracts, energy suppliers, or broadband providers, as well as how to go about making the transfer.
"Staying on top of regular household bills can lead to savings of hundreds of pounds a year, but we know it can be difficult to find time to go through paperwork and check with every supplier," says Carolyne Gregory, head of product management (Homes), Lloyds Banking Group. Because of the partnership with ApTap, Lloyds Bank and Halifax mortgage customers may now save and switch through their current home hub within their mobile banking, greatly simplifying the process of managing recurring bills.
ApTap finished the five-month "Lloyds Banking Group Launch" collaborative innovation program last year, which offered a systematic "test and learn" method for collaborating with fintechs. Fintechs have the chance to address important strategic problems by collaborating with company subject matter experts to develop concepts and validate through Proof of Concept testing.
"Throughout the Launch program, we have seen the bank's ambition to serve customers in innovative ways firsthand," says Will Billingsley, co-founder and CEO of ApTap. We're thrilled to be a part of the home ecosystem because, after working closely with several teams around the organization to bring our products into the app, we feel it gives our bill management solutions genuine meaning."
