A third-party provider's data breach that exposed customer and employee information has been notified by Banco Santander.
The operations of the Spanish bank in Uruguay, Chile, and Spain were impacted by the breach.
The Spanish lender claims, "We recently became aware of an unauthorized access to a Santander database hosted by a third-party provider." "All current and some former Santander employees of the group, as well as certain customer information from Santander Chile, Spain, and Uruguay, have been accessed.”
The bank claims that the situation has been isolated and that no transactional data, login credentials, or passwords for online banking were compromised.
