Zenus Bank, a digital bank with headquarters in Puerto Rico that provides US bank accounts to clients worldwide, has integrated the Accounts and Payments components of Estonian core banking software provider Tuum into its new global Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform.
With the help of the modules, Zenus is able to provide its own US banking infrastructure to banks, fintechs, and other third-party companies operating in over 120 countries. This allows the former to include US financial services and make them available to their clientele.
These services offer automated payment processing and settlement, as well as bundled payment initiation and validation capabilities equipped with local and unique payment formation criteria.
The bank claims in a statement that the integration uses its own technology and regulatory framework in conjunction with "integrations with key systems" to offer "scalable cross-border transactional banking services."
Speaking about next developments, Zenus chairman Mushegh Tovmasyan states that the bank is working on "over a dozen exciting BaaS partnerships," which he anticipates will debut after the platform in Q4 of this year.
The bank has previously selected Microsoft, HSO, and the Fiserv business Finxact as its suppliers. These vendors were selected in 2022 to power the bank's retail, corporate, and partnership banking activities.
For an unknown amount last year, Zenus purchased FUEX Payments, a start-up offering real-time payment API solutions also based in Puerto Rico.
