In order to expedite the development process for businesses testing integrated banking apps through the transaction bank's API suite, the Bank of London has implemented a Generative AI helper.

Developers can simulate and test their applications and integrations across various product sets, such as current and interest-bearing accounts, segregated accounts, payee confirmation, payments, customer onboarding, and virtual accounts, using the Bank of London API, which is available in a free sandbox test environment.

TBOL AI can answer both technical and general questions in real-time and was primarily created to serve the bank's Developer Studio. It can handle topics involving numerous programming languages.

The chief product officer of The Bank of London, Frankie Woodhead, says the AI will be further expanded to incorporate direct chat features within the API documentation, enabling developers and clients to speak with bank product and technology staff members directly.

"Our revolutionary TBOL AI is just the beginning of our extensive process to incorporate AI into our wider range of offerings as a regulated bank to assist companies in taking advantage of our real-time Banking-as-a-Service and API capabilities," the bank adds. "With one of the most extensive API offerings of any bank and a distinctive approach as a safer bank, we're already offering the UK's fastest route to market; anyone can access our API sandbox today without having to go through paywalls or sign non-disclosure agreements."
