The Swiss vendor Temenos and digital asset infrastructure company Taurus have completely integrated, allowing banks to transfer a variety of digital assets straight from within their installed core banking software and establish and manage cryptocurrency wallets.
In order to create, hold, and exchange digital assets including cryptocurrencies, tokenized assets, NFTs, and digital currencies, Taurus was founded in 2018 and offers enterprise-grade digital asset infrastructure.
Numerous financial institutions, such as Detusche Bank, Caceis, Credit Suisse Pictet, State Street, and Arab Bank Switzerland, have previously endorsed and supported the company.
Many more financial institutions may now access the solution thanks to the connection with Temenos. According to the suppliers, it would enable banks to introduce comprehensive digital asset services in "days or weeks" and at a fraction of the price they would have previously paid.
"Banks now have the infrastructure they need to quickly and effectively launch digital asset services thanks to this deep integration with Taurus," says Alexandre Duret, senior product director at Temenos. "By providing a fully integrated system, we’re enabling our customers to offer digital assets alongside their traditional services, reducing complexity and lowering the barriers to entry."
Clients of Temenos will be able to test their custody operations for all kinds of digital assets, including tokenized assets on public or private DLTs and cryptocurrencies, straight via their core. All of the main interfaces for booking, transfers, and custody have also been integrated.
The interface also includes completely automated deposit, transfer, and withdrawal procedures, as well as one-click wallet and address setup.
In addition to traditional asset transactions, digital asset transactions are booked directly in the Temenos core banking system, guaranteeing real-time booking and reconciliation.
Additionally, Jürgen Hofbauer, Taurus's head of worldwide strategic alliances, stated: "For financial institutions, this degree of integration is revolutionary. It gives banks the ability to handle digital assets in the same way as any other asset, which simplifies operations and creates new growth opportunities. We are eager to introduce several additional features for our shared clientele in collaboration with Temenos.
