Societe Generale appoints Christophe Tummers as chief data officer

Effective April 1, 2024, Christophe Tummers has been named Group Chief Data Officer.

Data is central to Societe Generale's strategy and is driving the evolution of financial services. Christophe will oversee the Global Data Office and report to Laura Mather, Group Chief Operating Officer.

Christophe is a seasoned data specialist with nearly three decades of experience in the banking sector. After serving as a Managing Director at UBS, where he most recently held the roles of Group Chief Data Officer (Group CDO) and CDO for ESG, he joins Societe Generale.

Christophe is passionate about data excellence and holds a degree in computer engineering.
At UBS, Christophe worked as a managing director and held a number of high-level positions, such as Group CDO and CDO for ESG.

 

Christophe spearheaded the organization's efforts to improve its data architecture, governance, and quality. He also developed the group CDO function and the group data management office. At UBS, he also held a number of key positions in operations and technology.

He made contributions to the best-practice data management guidelines for the financial sector while serving as a board member of the EDM council for a long time.

Being a dual citizen of Belgium and Switzerland, Christophe has lived and worked in a number of international locations, including London, Singapore, New York, and Zurich.
