As per the terms of the deal, Orion will modernise AGB's product line and integrate Temenos' cloud-based core banking platform into AGB's operations to provide consumers tailored, digital-first banking solutions.
 

AGB is a banking and financial services company that offers consumers creative, customised financial solutions supported by cutting-edge technology. With the help of Orion's array of digital services and technological solutions, banks may create novel products, update antiquated systems, and seize untapped market opportunities. This agreement is noteworthy since it marks Orion's entry into the Middle East and Africa (MEA) and follows up on a previous agreement it made with Cebuana Lhuillier Bank, located in the Philippines.

Orion Innovation representatives expressed their excitement about starting AGB's core modernization programme. Their strong position to guarantee a successful core banking transition stems from their regional presence in the MEA and their extensive solutions centred around Temenos. Through this collaboration, AGB's strategic growth ambitions and Digital First effort will be supported and expedited.
 

Executives from Gulf Bank and Africa also offered comments on this partnership, saying that the companies have created an ambitious roadmap based on cutting-edge retail, digital, and wholesale banking services and products. This roadmap includes crucial capability enhancements like straight-through processing, automated AI-based approvals, instant onboarding, and digitalized workflows. According to him, Temenos Transact and Infinity would enable AGB to expand its banking services for Sudanese citizens both at home and abroad, hence strengthening its 'Digital and Agency First' approach.

Prior AGB modernization initiatives

Temenos teamed up with Africa and Gulf Bank in October 2023 to improve banking in Sudan. By utilising cloud-based Temenos technologies, AGB hopes to improve corporate and retail offerings both domestically and globally.
