With effect from April 1st, 2024, NowCM, a market infrastructure and issuance provider with a focus on the primary debt capital markets, has named industry veteran Markus Sauerland as its new COO and co-CEO.
Sauerland will be in charge of "all operational and business initiatives, steering growth and deepening client engagements" in his new positions, according to NowCM.
NowCM founder and co-CEO Robert Koller has commented on Sauerland's entry, stating that the business is now prepared to enter a "new phase of growth, scaling our operations to align with those of our major clients."
Sauerland, who joined his new business with more than thirty years of international banking expertise, was the CEO and chairman of the management board of German investment bank Nomura Financial Products Europe.
Furthermore, Sauerland had a number of executive roles at Deutsche Bank from 1993 until 2012, including Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Global Foreign Exchange, COO for Group Finance, and Global CFO for Global Markets (Trading and Sales).
NowCM, a Luxembourg-based company that was established in 2015, offers a cloud-native data solution to the major debt capital markets that it says can be used for "creating, negotiating, and managing debt."
Additionally, the company provides access to primary markets for new and occasional issuers through its Treasury-as-a-Service (TaaS) facility, which is overseen by the CSSF.
