With £700k raised, Investa, the first listed options trading app in the UK with no commissions, has successfully concluded its first crowdfunding campaign.
FinTech Finance claims that because of the tremendous demand, the round was forced to conclude early since it was noticeably overcrowded. Investa, which was founded by a former Citi options broker and Freetrade co-founder, aims to make stock and options trading more accessible to everybody.
As the firm gets closer to its formal launch, the money obtained in this round will be used to enhance marketing activities and speed up development. By making the technical trip simpler, Investa hopes to revolutionize the trading experience and improve the ability of traders who are always on the road to interact with the market.
In an effort to close a major market gap, Investa is now the only app in the UK that permits zero-commission trading of listed options. With only 2% of UK investors reported to have traded options, compared to 20% in the US, this novel strategy aims to increase access to options trading.
Ian Fuller's recent joining the team demonstrates the company's dedication to increasing investor involvement in options trading. It is anticipated that his experience would be crucial in improving the user experience.
"We estimate that only 2% of UK investors have traded an option compared to 20% in the US, so there's a clear opportunity to bridge this gap," said Alec Beasley, co-founder and CEO of Investa, highlighting the unrealized potential in the UK market. Our goal with Investa is to increase accessibility to the options market, and the tremendous response to our initial crowdfunding campaign indicates that there are investors who are interested in what we have to offer.
