To improve the digital banking experience for its clients in Norway, Swedish bank Handelsbanken has teamed up with UK-based fintech Meniga to use its customer interaction capabilities.

According to the fintech, Meniga's solutions would allow the bank to provide its Norwegian clients with automated tools and individualized financial insights that will "facilitate informed financial decisions and improve overall financial health."

Meniga offers financial institutions carbon insight services, personalized engagement tools, and predictive analytics in addition to personal finance management services.

The transaction represents a "clear endorsement" of Meniga's "approach to finance management and personalised insights solutions," according to business CEO Raj Soni, because of "intense competition from major industry players."

Head of Technology and Digital Development at Handelsbanken in Norway, Øystein Aulin, anticipates that the collaboration would allow the bank to offer a “more intuitive and personal financial experience” to its Norwegian clientele.

There has been a lot of interest in the Nordic area for Meniga, which last December acquired €15 million in Series D investment. Apart from its partnership with Handelsbanken, the UK company inked a deal with Landsbankinn in Iceland in November to power its recently launched open banking services.
