Habib Bank Limited and National Bank of Oman have joined to offer new financial solutions and enhance client experiences.
Through a direct corridor partnership with HBL, NBO will begin offering quick fund transfers to Pakistan at competitive currency rates in March 2024. The partnership seeks to improve the efficiency and promptness of service delivery by streamlining foreign remittances to Pakistan.
Through its cooperation with Habib Bank Limited, representatives from NBO were quoted by zawya.com, emphasising the bank's commitment to offering creative financial solutions and enhancing the overall banking experience for consumers. NBO's primary objective is to serve expats by providing them with quick, safe, and easy ways to remit money to Pakistan via its rapid fund transfer service.
Residents of Pakistan will have access to the quick fund transfer service at all NBO branches in Oman, guaranteeing a dependable remittance experience. Consumers will benefit from cheap exchange rates, instant fund transfers available around-the-clock, and the option to use the service through the NBO App or all of the NBO branch network, all of which will increase convenience.
HBL representatives highlighted how happy they were about their collaboration with the National Bank of Oman, stressing the availability of safe and affordable cross-border payment services through NBO digital channels. Remittances to Habib Bank Limited and other bank accounts, including the ability to conduct Cash Over Counter transactions at any of HBL's Pakistani branches, are made possible via the partnership. The objective of this agreement is to enhance remittance services to Pakistan while strengthening the strategic collaboration between the two financial institutions.
NBO has stated that it is dedicated to providing cutting-edge banking solutions with an emphasis on customer-centricity and digital transformation.
Additional NBO projects
NBO and UnionPay formed a strategic partnership in January 2024 with the goal of bringing contactless payments to the area. By partnering with this company, NBO hopes to be among the first banks in Oman to accept UnionPay and enable contactless payments at all of its terminals. This will allow cardholders to pay for goods and services using contactless cards, mobile wallets, and mobile banking apps.
Through their relationship, NBO and UnionPay enabled all retailers in Oman to accept contactless payments from customers. This made contactless payments affordable, safe, and easy for both cardholders and businesses to use at the point of acceptance.
