In order to accommodate thousands of computer professionals, JPMorgan Chase has erected a brand-new, sustainably designed multi-million dollar building in Glasgow.
The 14-story, 270,000-square-foot facility in Glasgow will house JPMorgan's technology staff. The city has been home to one of the US giant's technology centers for 25 years, employing 2600 people.
With 3900 construction workers employed over the course of five years, the site's management of lighting, water, air quality, and noise reduction has earned it a "Gold" accreditation under the WELL standard.
"We have been among Glasgow's top technology employers for 25 years now, and this is a deliberate long-term investment in the city and our employees," says Lori Beer, global CIO of JPMorgan Chase.
"The opening of JPMorgan Chase's new Glasgow office is an exciting moment for the financial services and technology sectors in Scotland," said Scotland's First Minister, Humza Yousaf.
