Today, GAIB, a trailblazing platform building the financial framework for AI computing, reported that its $5 million pre-seed investment round was a success.
Crypto Briefing reports that a group of investors, including Hack VC, Faction, and Hashed, participated in the round. Spartan, CMCC, L2IV, Animoca Brands, IVC, MH Ventures, Presto, J17, IDG Capital, 280 Capital, Aethir, and Near Foundation, along with a number of angel investors, provided strategic investments.
In order to satisfy the increasing needs of the industry, the funds obtained will be used to strengthen the platform's infrastructure, speed up product iteration, and extend GAIB's operations and R&D teams. By filling important gaps in GPU financing and investor accessibility, this investment seeks to further GAIB's mission of creating a liquid, decentralized market for enterprise-grade GPUs.
By tokenizing GPUs and their returns, GAIB is establishing a new asset class backed by real AI demand, so setting a precedent. This innovation opens up direct investment options in AI, which were previously limited to stock investments in significant semiconductor or AI businesses. GAIB is developing new, yield-bearing assets that support a range of decentralized finance (DeFi) business cases by combining blockchain technology, AI, and GPU needs. This covers yield products, diversified portfolio methods, and direct GPU exposure.
The creator and CEO of GAIB, Kony Kwong, stated, "We're creating the first economic layer for AI compute, bringing new investment opportunities into this booming sector." Through these new avenues for direct investment, we are enabling people and institutions to directly participate in the trillion-dollar AI compute industry by turning GPUs and their income into a tradable asset class.
Hack VC's co-founder and managing partner, Alex Pack, was excited to assist GAIB. He said, "We are excited to support GAIB as they open up direct investment opportunities to the crucial AI compute market, which has historically been controlled by a small number of powerful companies."
Along with the investment, GAIB has formed important alliances with prominent players in the market like Aethir and io.net, which are essential to expanding the scalability of GAIB's distinct method of financializing compute assets.
The foundation for this significant pre-seed investment project was established by GAIB's previous involvement in a number of hidden early-stage fundraising initiatives.
