All staff of Commonwealth Bank of Australia will get access to an AI microlearning series.
Bite-sized educational films covering subjects like generative AI, deep learning, and responsible AI make up the AI For All series. Additionally, role-specific AI training classes will be made available to bank personnel.
The microlearning series, which was introduced to some 43,000 CommBank workers in May 2024, has amassed more than 22,000 views overall throughout its nine learning modules.
"We know AI is an increasingly important tool for delivering the best products and experiences for our customers, and in line with this we're committed to fostering a skilled, future-ready workforce," says Jane Adams, executive general manager of human resources technology at CommBank.
For a number of years, the bank has been using artificial intelligence (AI) to detect technology-facilitated misuse and to better safeguard its clients from fraud and scams.
In order to evaluate the reaction to new goods and services, it said in October that it was researching the use of generative AI to produce "synthetic customers" who might mimic human behavior.
The regulations regulating the design, development, deployment, and usage of AI systems are being formulated by the bank according to a set of principles.
"It was crucial that responsible AI be a major theme while creating the curriculum for our AI training package. We all have a vital responsibility to play in controlling AI risk and utilizing AI responsibly, Adams argues, regardless of the specific position someone holds at the bank.
