In Europe and Latin America, BBVA is the first financial services company located in Emea to sign a Whole Portfolio Agreement (WPA) with Cisco.
The five-year contract unifies 3,000 separate contracts into a single, unified agreement, simplifying management.
The deal, which spans operations in several nations, comprises services and solutions in networking, data centers, cybersecurity, and collaboration that are provided by a dedicated Cisco team.
"BBVA can achieve significant efficiency and productivity gains thanks to the agreement," states Jordi García, global head of engineering performance and strategy.
Since 2016, Cisco has been BBVA's strategic partner, working on several contracts related to cooperation, networking, data centers, and security. The Spanish bank will have exclusive access to the complete Cisco portfolio, including the newest AI-driven advancements, according to the new arrangement.
"BBVA and Cisco have a partnership that goes beyond a simple supplier-customer arrangement. José Luis Elechiguerra, global head of engineering at BBVA, states, "After eight years of strategic partnership working together, BBVA premises and employees worldwide will have access to not only current but future Cisco technological developments."
