James offers more than 25 years of expertise in technology roles in international banking. Since joining Citi in 2013, he has led business execution and product development for the ISO 20022 and Platform Modernization programs. He presently supervises business execution and platform modernization for Payments within Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS), Citi Services. Since joining Citi thirteen years ago, Amit has been in charge of developing and implementing the technology strategy for Citi Services' Payments division. He is also a member of the Payments Executive Committee and the TTS Tech Senior Management Team. He has worked for several financial institutions for more than 20 years.

James and Amit's appointment to the Icon Board of Directors comes after Citi made a strategic investment in the company in December 2023. As part of a multi-year initiative to modernize its payment systems, Citi is collaborating with Icon and has invested in the company to increase its innovation toolset and future-proof its payment services.

As part of its micro-services architecture, Citi uses the Icon Payments platform (IPF), an ISO 20022 compliant, cloud-native, open source technology platform, to streamline and standardize its business capabilities. This will make it possible to provide clients with new solutions more quickly and consistently.
