It was reported earlier this year that the troubled French InsurTech Luko was about to be acquired by Allianz Direct, a division of the German insurance behemoth Allianz, for an estimated €5 million.

According to a Sifted story, Luko has finally found a buyer in Allianz Direct, after months of legal fights. The move will come after this.

Luko, who was once a rising star in the French tech industry, filed for bankruptcy in June of last year despite raising $75 million from well-known investors like Accel and Speedinvest.

Due to the company's financial difficulties, a €14 million agreement with FTSE 100 insurance behemoth Admiral fell through, forcing Allianz Direct to intervene. The agreement, which is pending approval by the French commercial court, intends to keep Luko's 112 employees while saving the company from bankruptcy.
