In the majority of nations, Google is discontinuing Fitbit Pay and switching customers to Google Wallet.
Since 2017, Fitbit, a pioneer in fitness tracking, has allowed its customers to make contactless payments. In order to expand beyond its primary function, Fitbit purchased the wearable assets of fintech company Coin.
After gaining close to 30 million members, the business was acquired by Google in a multibillion dollar deal in 2021.
Beginning at the end of July, Fitbit Pay will no longer be accessible; users are instead encouraged to create an account with Google Wallet. Taiwan, Japan, and Saudi Arabia are exempt from the modifications.
