All of UniCredit's debit, credit, and prepaid cards are being upgraded with Mastercard's capabilities for blind and partially sighted individuals.

The most recent bank to adopt the Mastercard Touch Card design is UniCredit in Italy. This design uses a system of side notches to enable users to select the appropriate card simply by touch.

About 20 million cards, which are currently being distributed in Italy, will progressively be made available to all clients across the twelve nations where the bank has business by the end of 2024. Recycled PVC is also used to make the cards.

Head of UniCredit's group payment solutions Alberto Palombi states: "Making sure that everyone has access to the financial resources they require is a crucial part of empowering our communities. For this reason, we are happy to announce that our cards for clients who are blind or partially sighted now include notches. These cards are also constructed from certified sustainable materials.

In shaping a better world, banks play a pivotal role, and demonstrating support to customers is another avenue through which we aim to illustrate our commitment.
