Orange Middle East & Africa and Microsoft are collaborating to provide Microsoft solutions to small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in 17 MEA countries. Additionally, Orange is working with Tencent Cloud, the cloud division of tech giant Tencent, to enhance its super-app, "Max it," for local businesses and users.
Orange MEA hopes to meet the expanding needs of SMEs as they go through digital transformation by working with Microsoft. Orange's current distribution network in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) will now facilitate the upskilling of Microsoft professionals in each nation while giving SMEs simple access to products like Dynamics 365, Azure, Copilot, and Microsoft 365.
Orange and Microsoft will also work together on marketing, sales support, and training initiatives to help SMEs use and profit from Microsoft Modern Work solutions.
By working together, Microsoft and Orange hope to help 15,000 firms by the year 2024. By then, they hope to reach one million SMEs by giving them access to technology, resources, and assistance to hasten adoption. Promoting digital inclusiveness and enabling all MEA region economic actors to reap the benefits of digital transformation are the main objectives.
"This collaboration with Microsoft is a significant step in our commitment to support the digital transformation of African businesses," stated Orange MEA CEO Jérôme Hénique. Our network and Microsoft's technologies work together to give SMEs the resources and direction they require to succeed in the digital economy.
Bringing "digital inclusion and innovation in Africa" to life
In the meantime, Orange MEA intends to use the Tencent Cloud Mini Program Platform (TCMPP) and mobility infrastructure to provide an open platform that will allow Max to incorporate a variety of mini-apps into its super-app.
With Tencent Cloud's technological know-how, Orange MEA will be able to leverage mini-apps to enhance its Max it ecosystem, enhance partner and customer experiences, and solidify its place in the African market.
Tencent Cloud's general manager for Europe, Fred Sun, said in a statement: "This partnership offers a special chance to spur innovation and digital inclusion in Africa, enabling the creation of use cases and services catered to regional requirements while encouraging African entrepreneurship. We are the perfect partner for Orange because of our background in supporting Weixin/WeChat, one of the first super-apps ever created. In the near future, we are excited to collaborate with African businesses and support their ecosystem with Tencent Cloud's products and services.
Hénique further emphasized the significant turning point that this collaboration marks in the evolution of Max it: "This collaboration with Tencent Cloud is a crucial phase in our goal to provide our users with high-quality and innovative services." To improve Max it's value proposition, expand the super-app's user base among Orange and non-Orange users, and boost our social effect, we must enhance it with creative mini-apps.
